Trish & Phill's Tandem TransAmerican

Tour 2003

 Home Up

Jun 14 Sterling - Larned 61mi

Today was the best day we have had so far, as far as cycling goes. It was a pretty flat road all the way the wind was behind us and the sun was shining, we made excellent speed and our average was about 17mi which up until now has been around the 6/7mi mark.

We meet a couple on a Tandem going West to East, they said they would take about 35+ days to do the trip and they were averaging around 100mi a day, unloaded, wind in there favour and their son ahead in a van with all their supplies etc, that sounds the best way to do it.

We arrived into town around 1pm which was great it meant we had got time to see the town instead of the usual wash up eat and then bed.
