Jun 17 Ness City - Scotts City (58mi)Updated photo of our Granddaughter Sophie and our First Granddaughter Ailish. This makes me peddle quicker so I can get home to them.
Last night we were at a church that had a games room inside. There was pool/snooker, table soccer and ping pong ,It was good fun. Tonight we are staying at a gymnasium! We cant use the equipment but the spa-pool and swimming pool were really good. Swimming lets us use the odd muscles that are not used on the bike and of course it cools you down Trish's back is sore. When we got to town this afternoon we found a chiropractor who manipulated her back, It helped a bit but her back is still sore. We pasted through Alexander today and found a coffee shop. The guy running the place was so intent on talking with us he walked round the counter and sat with us to chat. He was telling us his Health Insurance premium was close on $400 US per month. When he reached 60 years old it went up near $100/month. That's much more expensive than in Australia. The road kill is minimal now. We see the odd bird and snake but that's about it, given that there are few cars and even birds to be seen the ones that get run over must not be too smart. A few states back the Armadillo started turning up as road kill. A farmer had told me he shoots any he sees, he said that they can carry Leprosy. I saw another Armadillo today and Lara confirmed they do carry the disease. |
