Trish & Phill's Tandem TransAmerican

Tour 2003

 Home Up

Jun 4 Pilot Knob - Eminence (75mi)

We had a great nights sleep in the hotel, refreshed for the day ahead.

Wrong, we got about 2 miles down the road turned right and it was as if we had rode into a brick wall, the wind was incredible we were traveling about 4-5miles an hour, legs like jelly man it was hard.

It was a long ride to the next stop. We always ride about 15/20 miles then stop for something to eat and drink we try and find a drive way rather than the grass as you have to be careful of Poison Ivy which is a nasty leaf that can have you itching with hive like welts on your skin very painful, then you have to watch for tick same as in AS but they seem to be everywhere I have actually had 2 on me but got them off before they burrow in the skin. It is okay to have your snack on someone's driveway but trying to find a place to Pee so you cannot be seen has no poison ivy and is tick free is very difficult ha-ha, Phill just laughs and says just go anywhere (as if).
