Jul 7 West Yellowstone - Ennis 78mi
The places are getting few and far between where I can upload my
web page so I am typically about a week or so behind. I have updated all the
images from the last few days. When I was loading them up I got thrown out
half way through so some images appear and other don't. When I get to a
town where there are more than about a dozen people I can go in and sort it all
out.
We had a puncture on the Bob trailer this morning so I had to change that before anything else. We had
a few things to do before we left town about 10 this morning. The bush fire was
under control and just about out as we left town. The road takes us past Hebgon
Lake, a huge lake and so picturesque with a backdrop of Mountains. The road was
also slightly down hill. Unfortunately the wind had picked and was causing us to
peddle even on the good down hills.

Our destination was Ennis and according to the map was slightly down
hill but we struggled all day to get there. The road followed the Madison
River and we saw many guys standing in the river fishing. We stopped at a
Cafe for refreshment and the lady asked me if I was here for the fishing -
No I said as I stood there in my Lycra and helmet on.
Most motorists are very courteous and wait till the road is clear to
pass us, even waiving to us as they go by. There is also the odd one or
two who pump their horns and give the finger sign. Luckily these idiots
are the rare. Trish waves to every one and anyone. Kansas was the State
were the most waiving occurred. I like to see kids faces as they watch the
Tandem pass few out here in the wild west have seen these kind of bikes.
Tonight we stopped at a motel and had all you can eat Pizza for dinner,
I did my best to send them bankrupt but could not eat the place out - they
just kept bringing more out.
