Tour 2003

 Home Up

Jul 2 Jeffrey City - Lander 70mi

We decided to leave early as today as it was a big ride again to beat the heat and wind.  The first half of the ride was fantastic the scenery wasn't too bad although a lot different from what we had been seeing.

We are meeting our son-in-law Craig in Dubois in a couple of days time so we are on the phone to him today finalising where we will met. He is Australian but lives over here in Tulsa OK working as a manager for a Mining Equipment organisation (Terex Mining). At the moment he is working away from his home in  Gillette Wyoming. He says there is a pretty girl hiding behind every tree in Gillette - trouble is there are no trees - it must be bleak there!

We heard that another one of the Adventure Cycling group we were riding with has just pulled out. There are now 5 of the original 10 who started out in Virginia. Marty was a good guy with a sharp mind and great sense of humour. I'm sure the group will miss him as we do.  Mike we have heard is in Montana so we are hoping we may even meet him on the trail.

Tonight we stayed in a nice Motel were the desk do the laundry for us. The service was done free too - can't complain about that can you?
