May 11 Charlottesville LaydayToday is a rest day. We are still at the kids holiday campsite. It's a day for getting washing done and catching up on Bike maintenance. Our bike was so wet yesterday that the chain is showing surface rust this morning. A good clean and oiling is in order. There was a group of people meeting at the camp site last night who stayed in chalets, they left today so we moved up and used the chalets. A soft comfortable bed was nice. We were lucky enough to have Grant (a local) bring his car out and run us around. He took us up to Montichello, once home of the once president. It was a very informative visit.
Thomas Jefferson's Home We have taken a serious look at the stuff we are carrying and found that we can live without certain pieces of it for the next 3 months. We have boxed up a package and Grant's wife will post it off back to Australia on Monday for us. Tonight we all go out for a Mexican meal. The average cost is about $8 per meal that's quite cheap. It's also Mother's day today so congratulations to all you moms out there. With all the clothes dry and stuff sent back we should be racing up the hills tomorrow. We are told that the hills are going to get really serious for the next week or so. That will see is leaving Virginia and into Kentucky.
