| The news May 17th WythevilleNo Mileage today. The group moved on without us. We are staying in town so that Ian and Jody Fiorini from the Tree Huggers Bike shop he can install a front Disk brake onto the bike. Rain or shine the disc brake will stop us. Trish will have the lever on the back together with the drum brake, we will then have four brakes in all. We stayed in a motel last night and again tonight. This morning I looked out of the window about 7:30 and thought of the rest of the group getting on the road. It was wet and foggy I felt sorry for them as I crawled back into bed for another hour, their plight did not keep me from another hours sleep. It rained just about all day, I was able to hire a larger van than needed but that's OK, at least it's a vehicle and I am able to catch up to the group. We have to drop the van off at a place called Richmond 30 miles outside Barea Kentucky which will in fact take us ahead of the group by about 2/3 days.
We were supposed to pick up the bike at around 4pm but Ian had someone's bike come in that needed to be fixed also which meant that our bike had to take a back seat but Ian decided he would put off his vacation to get our bike fixed and would work on it all night if he had to, absolutely amazing the generosity of these people. TREE HUGGER'S BIKE SHOP the best service ever. The extra day gave us time to catch up with the web page, e-mails and washing cloths. We went out to dine in the evening using the big van and ended up taking a wrong turn and found ourselves on the Interstate freeway to Florida or Alaska or somewhere and to make matter worse everyone here drives on the wrong side of the road. There are 36 stations on the TV in the room and I can't stop myself I just have to keep flicking over them all, it's addictive.
