| Williamsburg Virginia May 5We thought we would replace the battery in the speedo today, unfortunately as the battery was removed it must have caused a fault in the electronics of the device. The result was that the speedo is caput! We had to find a second bike shop as the first is closed every Monday, ended up getting a new speedo and also a mirror for Trish. We went for a ride around today to check things out, Williamsburg is such a pretty place. Getting used to riding on the wrong side of the rode takes a bit of getting used to. We found the perfect eating place on the way back.
Tonight we meet the whole group. We are a mixed group 5 women 6 men. Most are around 45 to 60 age with the exception of a 25 year old girl Lara from Texas. Adventure cycling Leader Handed out a tee shirt and conspicuous triangle to hang off the back of the bike for everyone and the general housekeeping duties were discussed and how work amongst us will be distributed. First impression of the whole group is a good one and cannot wait to get to know them all better and spending 3 months with someone is certainly going to give us ample opportunity. Phill was so anxious that night with the anticipation of the Shake Down ride tomorrow (with the load being so big) he gets about 2 hours sleep, needless to say Trish was awake half the night too with Phill's shifting around.
